Military Chief Common MM Naravane on Wednesday expressed remorse over the civilian killing case in Oting, Nagaland on December four and guaranteed that the case is being totally investigated. As many as 13 civilians died on December four after they had been killed by the 21 Para Particular Forces (SF) of the Military in a botched-up counter-insurgency operation within the district. The primary firing led to the demise of six civilians after the SF unit mistook coal mine staff returning residence in a pick-up van, to be members of the terrorist outfit NSCN (Ok).
“The regrettable incident that occurred in Oting, Nagaland on December four is being totally investigated. We stay dedicated to the safety of our countrymen, even through the conduct of operations,” Naravane mentioned.
